Research by Victor Larsson and Peter Sjögren

History

Peder Mattsson Bjugg

(1626 – 1709)

  • Fjärdingsman

  • Owned a hammare vid Prästhammaren

  • Gästgivare vid Östra Gunnilbos Värdhus

P.M. Biügg comes to Östra Gunnilbo and seems to marry into the occupation of fjärdingsman when he marries Margareta Hansdotter, the daughter of the fjärdingsmannen Hans Lorentsson.

Bjugg-släkten

Where are they from?

There are a few Bjugg families scattered around Sweden. The word bjugg comes from the old type of wheat that was grown in old times sometimes called korn. The question is: Which family do the Bjuggs in Gunnilbo come from?

Hans Lorentsson i Lorentstorp

(1591 – 1679)

  • Fjärdingsman

Lorentstorp is located on the west bank of the lake Lilla Kedjan and is probably named after the father of Hans Lorentsson named "Lorents".

Per Sandersson

(c.1575 – bef.1657)

  • Fjärdingsman

My friend, research partner and distant cousin Peter Sjögren found a document from 1657 that is a will for Per Sandersson and his wife Marit Månsdotter. He carefully transcribed the document as well. From this document we can see that Hans Lorentsson is his son-in-law (måg).
